Severine Vannier

Quote: If people want to cry about every little pain and ache, maybe they shouldn’t get themselves shot or stabbed!

Severine Vannier is a 32-year old medical doctor with a largely criminal clientele and few social graces beyond crass intimidation. Her career was sidetracked into the world of those who can’t really go to a legitimate hospital because of terrible bedside manner and even worse ability to professionally network. The unemployable have to employ themselves somehow.

Personality: Severine is curious and very bad at letting things go once she becomes interested. She’s not particularly interested in whether people she’s treating are suffering or not but does genuinely want to help people, in her own way. She has a self-image of herself as a sophisticated, cosmopolitan, cultured person only slightly hardened by years of dealing with criminal clientele, but in practice she comes across as a harder person than she intends to.

History: Severine’s father was a medical doctor as well and she grew up surrounded by all sorts of strange paraphernalia. She also absorbed the idea that through willpower, an individual can achieve anything she wants, which got her into trouble but also made her succeed where others failed.

Severine has a clinic of dubious legality in Paris. She makes enough money to travel when she feels like it, and likes to do so when she generates too much heat in her home town. She’s associated with the society of investigators because of her desire to have an intellectual community and because of her inability to adjust to more normal society.
