A cross between tic-tac-toe and chess, Strategeti is a simple and fast two-player game in which you seek to lord over the savannah by moving and placing your hefty and tangible game pieces until one of three win conditions is fulfilled: You manage to line up four of your own pieces, eliminate six of your opponent’s pieces or paralyze your opponent so they don’t have any potential moves left.
The physical presentation of the game is very attractive, with a simple, good-looking board and big, solid game pieces which make you feel like you’re really making a move. There are four types of them, zebras, antelopes, elephants and lions, and each has their own move. Elephants can push other game pieces while antelopes jump over them.
A single game of Strategeti takes around ten minutes. For once, the duration promised in the packaging actually holds true!
